This week

Hi everybody,
I'm sure some of you noticed RIND Newsletter missing for a couple
of weeks. Let me just say that there was a reason. Sorry. I'll try to avoid
any delays in the future. That's a promise.
One of The Best Three Delphi Resources that you can find online
is Delphi Pages, and that's what we'll talk about this week.

The Review

Imaginality Productions Inc. is the company behind this great site.
What do they have to offer? Well, if you've ever stumbled across Delphi Pages
home page at
http://www.delphipages.com
then you saw how big this site is.
Probably the biggest portion of site's content is a collection
of over 1,500 Delphi components. Once you get to the home page, you will see
three combo boxes in the upper right corner. The second one holds 73 component
categories. Each catogory is filled with useful freeware and shareware components
with descriptions and download links. Just select a category and click on the
GO button.
Applications written in Delphi are divided into 46 categories (the
third combo box), many of which are freeware with full source. A great way to
learn how to do something is to look at someone else's code.
From what I see every time I visit this site, forum messages are
mainly used by Delphi beginners. So, if you're one of them, take a look at
http://www.delphipages.com/threads/
You can post new forum message by visiting
http://www.delphipages.com/users/forum/new.cfm
If you're a "head hunter" or you're looking for a Delphi
job, visit
http://www.delphipages.com/resume/
Chat section is located at
http://www.delphipages.com/chat.cfm
and you can try to contact anybody (or everybody) that is currently
browsing this site.
Looking for tips? Here they are:
http://www.delphipages.com/tips/
and if you have your own, you can submit it on
http://www.delphipages.com/tips/new.cfm
You can submit your product information, event, or anything that
might be of interest to the Delphi community on
http://www.delphipages.com/news/submitnews.cfm
It will be reviewed, and if appropriate, published on Delphi Pages.
Submit a survey proposal on
http://www.delphipages.com/surveys/submitproposal.cfm
by entering a question and possible answers. If it's interesting
enough, it will be published, so visitors can vote.
As you can see, this site is huge. And the best part of it follows
- submitting your applications/components. Once you log in at
http://www.delphipages.com/users/
you can fill in a simple form with your product's name, description
and upload it right away, just using your browser (note that older browser versions
do not have this capability). You can even let Delphi Pages upload your component
by transfering from any server online: if you have a website and you uploaded
your product, just fill in the link to it, and Delphi Pages server will "download"
it. This is one of the best things on this site - neither Torry's nor DSP will
let you upload as easy as this.
As I said, this site is the place to go when searching for Delphi
code, both freeware and shareware.
Stay tuned, I'll be reviewing some well-known components soon.
Your HLO,
Jovan Sedlan
